Traveling? Don't forget your wristlet!

As we look ahead to summer, it’s time to think about how best to pack for vacations. You know the basics—pack coordinating colors, think wrinkle resistant fabrics, and make sure the items you pack can do double—or triple—duty. That last piece of advice is particularly apt when it comes to handbags. The tote you need for the plane isn’t the bag you want to take with you to the nightclub!

COSMETICS CAN DO DOUBLE DUTY

This is where a beautiful cosmetic bag comes in, as the New York Times recently pointed out. In an article 5 Tips to Travel Light and Dress Well at the Same Time, the usefulness of packing “make up in a sleek pouch that doubles as an evening bag” was highlighted. We agree and routinely do just that. Putting a wristlet on our cosmetic bag makes it the perfect companion for beach walks, amusement parks, weddings and evenings out.

Other advice in the article: no more than 2-3 pairs of shoes, no more than 3 coordinating colors, wear exercise clothes on the plane, and bring one dressy, non-bulky outfit.
