What makes a perfect purse?
Rebecca Hanner White and Jane Hanner Allen, who together have decades of experience as working professionals, could not find a purse to suit their needs. They found that most purses were utilitarian and masculine, not functional and feminine. There were no bags that offered the features they needed for their demanding professional lives, while providing the simplicity, elegance and beauty they wanted in a purse to carry on and off the job. After years of shopping for the perfect bag, both in the United States and throughout Europe and Asia, these two sisters decided it was time to design the bags they were searching for – purses that have the features women need, with the beauty and elegance they want. Both wanted the purses manufactured in the United States, and they found artisans in Los Angeles who could provide the outstanding quality and craftsmanship required for their label.
The first bag they designed is a shoulder bag, The Evelyn. This is the bag the sisters envisioned, searched for, and could not find. It is, quite simply, the perfect purse, whether for the working professional or for anyone looking for an elegant, functional, luxurious handbag. It can go from day to evening--anywhere a classically beautiful, yet practical, handbag is needed. In addition to The Evelyn, the sisters also designed a tote and a cross body bag. Many of the features that are important to The Evelyn (luxurious lightweight leather, hand braided shoulder straps, functionality, elegance and femininity) are also found on the tote, The Dee, and on the cross body, The EJ. They also designed a cosmetic bag, The Maren, in leather that complements the handbags, along with a Wristlet. The Wristlet can attach to the cosmetic bag, transforming it into a small clutch, or it can be used alone as a key ring or bracelet.
These pieces comprise the Hanner Clarke line, a series of handbags that are classically elegant, functional yet feminine, lightweight and luxurious. Hanner Clarke handbags are, quite simply, the perfect purses.
