I recently had the opportunity to speak on a panel with some amazing women.  Paula Lovell, founder of Lovell Communications, www.lovell.com, served as our moderator, and the panel consisted of Beth Chase, who just sold her company C3 Consulting, www.c3-consult.com, Pat Miller, one of the founders of Vera Bradley, verabradley.com, and me.  It was an honor to share the stage with these smart women, to listen to their stories, and to share a bit of mine.  We are all daughters, mothers and business owners, and we all found a way to balance our internal drive and our families.  Each of us had an idea, the initiative and encouragement to pursue the idea, and the determination and drive to see it through to success.

Gathering with like minded people and listening to their stories is inspiring.  So often it is easy to feel that you are alone in your journey, but really, many are going through the same thing, although perhaps in different industries and locations.  It was clear to me in listening to each other and to the audience that regardless of where you are professionally and personally, we have so much to learn from, and to be inspired by, each other.
